Understanding Salvation

God is our Creator. We are accountable to Him.

Romans 1:19-20 = “Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.”

We are sinners, separated from God. We disobey God.

Romans 3:10 = “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”

Romans 3:23 = “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.

Matthew 16:16 = “And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

John 20:31 = “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”

Acts 8:37 = “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

There must be a payment for our sins.

Romans 6:23 = “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Jesus Christ died on the cross for us. He died to pay for our sins.

Romans 5:7-8 = “For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus is the only way we can be saved from our sins.

John 14:6 = “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Acts 4:12 = “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Jesus can save you from your sins. He can forgive you of your sins.

Romans 10:9 = “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Romans 10:13 – “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

1 John 1:9 = “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
